The Australian Method

The Australian Method refers to the idea of understanding and working closely with every patient to ensure a personal and accurate assessment of their signs and symptoms. This approach focuses on building a strong, open relationship between a physical therapist and the patient to better understand their issues. A key concept is the evaluation strategy, known as S.I.N.S., an acronym for “Severity, Irritability, Nature, and Stage”.

S.I.N.S.

Severity: Refers to the intensity of your symptoms and is based on your perception of the symptoms and how much they limit your activity

Irritability: Refers to the relationship among the amount of activity required to provoke your symptoms and the time it takes for the symptoms to subside

Nature: Represents the therapist’s perception of the possible condition; your personality and character, pain tolerance, and ethnic or social background; and the genetic components of the disorder

Stages: Refers to the progression and stability of the condition

What Our Clients Say

The people here are excellent and strive you to get better. I was in a car accident and the doctor saw me the day I showed up to his door because I was in a lot of pain. Him and his staff have been helping me get through these pains that I have and I highly recommend this place!

Kelvin R.

As a Personal Trainer, I’ve had my fair share of Physical Therapy visits and many haven’t been worth my time. But with my recent Achilles tendinitis, I thought I would try again and found Holistic Manual Therapy. I’m very pleased! Not only are they friendly, but professional and knowledgeable. They even worked on my neck issues. Other places wouldn’t dare to address an issue that wasn’t on your Rx!

Catherine W.

Totally pain free after just 3 visits, and it's not the first time. As a long time back pain sufferer, I was always skeptical of PT. Nochum changed all that. I no longer have to go to PT for weeks on end with barely visible improvement. After the first visit you will feel much better.
